During the time we were working on our graduation project, our group set up a Yes Studio (yes_animation_studio@instagram), and we participated in CARDIFF’s 48 Hour Animation Contest, where we created an animation about childhood by combining clay, paper cutouts, 2D, and live action. This provided me with a lot of experience in the stop-motion industry. I have been trying to do puppet stop-motion since YEAR1, to Drunk at LIAF, as well as the Bishop’s project which was also about puppets, and my many stop-motion projects have helped me to have a clearer plan for my future career path. In the process of making a stop-motion animation, no matter it is puppet making, scene props designing or shooting, there is a very healing feeling, a feeling of creating a new life and experiencing a new life. This has made me determined to pursue a career related to stop-motion animation, I want to combine stop-motion animation with healing, which is why I mostly do funny stories, I want to use animation to bring healing to people. So I’m planning to apply for studies or jobs in the healing aspect of the art of animation. I read about some schools that have this direction (Goldsmiths, Kingston, etc.) and wrote relevant CVs and Research Proposals as well as Portfolio . During these two years of study and preparation, I became clearer about what I like and what I am suitable for, and I am working hard on it. I have also made my own showreel, personal business card and my art accounts (Instagram, Tiktok, Rednote), on which I update my animation and illustration works respectively. Running social media is also part of my career plan. Exposure through social media allows the work to be seen better. In addition to my personal social media, the three of us at YES studio synchronize our work during the production of our graduation project. And we will submit each of us individually to various competitions after the graduation design is finished, such as Anima Festival, Kaboom Animation Film Festival, Annie Awards, etc. Even during our production we were going to submit it to Student Academy Awards, but due to the lack of time, we couldn’t meet the deadline so we didn’t participate. During this time I also searched for many stop motion animation studios and teams and emailed some of them and asked them about the skills they needed people to have. As well as when and under what conditions they are hiring. I plan to do internships in stop-motion studios to accumulate experience during the gap period after graduation.
